I finished up my ALQS quilt this weekend, and I must say that I am pretty thrilled with how it turned out.
I have pictures of the back and the label, but I'm not going to post them until I know that the recipient has gotten the package. I'm pretty proud of the label, considering it was my first ever and I didn't really know what I was doing.
You can't tell too much from these pictures, but the binding's kind of a mess. I am still really new to hand sewing and don't quite have it down yet, but I am happy to report that I seem to be getting better at it as I go.
I will be getting this in the mail on Monday, as I'll be in Boston for work the rest of the week. (Anyone know of any good quilt shops in the Back Bay area or within walking distance of Newbury Street?)

ReplyDeleteOk, Boston! I live about 1 mile from the city center, just over the river close to Harvard. I have learned since I started quilting, that it is, unusually, a more rural art. All the shops, guilds etc. are out in the suburbs and the country. Both the shops in the "city" are very hard to get to or far from where you will be. The closest would be in Quincy, a few stops down the red line on the train. I think there is a neat button shop closer to you. I will check it out for you if you are interested. There are a few fabric stores up in China Town, but they are the crazy, dusty, bolts everywhere type places. Some decent deals but not quilt quality usually. Are you interested in any other type of fun little shops? I can direct you to a few neat places a few train stops away if you like. Not sure how much free time you have. Please let me know if you have any questions, or are interested in knowing more of anything "Boston". Hope you have a great time while here, and that the weather is decent. Love Stacy
