Let me start by saying that I am not a bag maker. That is certainly my wife's forte. But I had a stack of fat quarters that I was loving and had been contemplating working them in to one of my swaps this summer that I was instead inspired to turn into a set of small drawstring bags. They are from a great (& quick) Amy Butler pattern and have become our "go-to" gift when we need something quickly.
And here they are!
Hope you like them! And yes, they will be filled with goodies ... which may or may not include a chocolate Tar Heel, Sequana! ; ) I've also been grooving to some great new music while working on these, and was inspired to include a mix CD with each of the bags. (I LOVE making mix CD's, by the way).
So here's how I am going to do this. Simply leave me a comment on this post anytime between now and Thursday 7/10. I'll draw numbers and names at about 9PM EST, so spread the word and tell all of your friends! Oh, and if you have a preference on which of the four is your favorite, let me know ... I can't promise anything, but as I pull the names in order I'll try to honor preferences. Sound OK?
#1: Green Flutterby
#2: Pink Ginger Blossom
#3: Blue Flutterby (my personal favorite)
#4: Blue Ginger Blossom
I think it's so awesome that a guy knows how to quilt! And make bags? Impressive for sure. I, too, am a mix-CD maker, maybe since I am a product of the 80's and mix tapes, haha. Love the mix CD's!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting such a fun giveaway!
Beautiful bags! love the blue ginger blossom, if I had to pick. I make CD's, too! Perhaps I can exchange it for a "Music To Quilt To" mix?
ReplyDeleteWow, those bags are to die for. The Pink Ginger Blossom sings to me. I had to come out of the lurking shadows to try and win one.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing with us, you are being very generous.

ReplyDeleteAnd congratulations on 50 posts! Woo hoo!
Nice that you are making bags. They are cute. And did you know that one of the members of the 6 inch quilt swap lives in your town?
ReplyDeletePink ginger blossom for my first choice. I think I remember you a few months ago mentioning you didn't have many readers - but 100 comments - I'm impressed. There are so many of us who enjoy your blog - give away or no (although that does make it fun).
ReplyDeleteSo I think more people read your blog than you realize - i think its the guy quilting aspect that draws us in... Anyways, those bags are super cute, and my DH would be super annoyed if I happened to win one - which of course means I'm dying to have one! Strangely, I'm not a huge fan of the pink (which I normally would be - I like the blue version better)...

Better yet, maybe I'll win one, along with all the goodies inside! I love the idea of doing a give away. Some day I hope to branch out from quilting to bags, though I'm still in the very early stages of quilting so I've got some time before I do much branching... I love the green and blue flutterby especially. How elegant!
