The Bushfire Quilt Project

Tia (aka CampFollowerBagLady) set up a new group on Flickr today called the Bushfire Quilt Project. The idea is to do our little part to help the people that are suffering from the devastation caused by bushfires in Victoria, Australia.

Tia's request is simple: donated quilt blocks (stars are preferred) that she will, in turn, make into quilts for those suffering "so they can wrap themselves in our love and prayers as they return to rebuild."

Sounds easy enough to me. If you'd like to help out, please visit the Flickr group to learn more.

  3. Thankyou John. I'm (luckily) a long way from the fires, but the stories that we have been hearing on the news for the past few days have been beyond tragic.

  4. It's wonderful to see such support coming from afar. I am also a long way from the fires (Adelaide), but it has shocked the nation. I was involved in the Quilts for Comfort project after the Canberra firestorms 7 years ago and we managed to make at least one quilt for each of the 530 families who lost their homes. Thanks!
