April Family Pictures

We had a lot of fun in April (before the stomach plague hit). Here are some pictures first of a Saturday that we spent at our local children's museum here in Raleigh:


The kids had a lot of fun playing dress-up and performing on stage, playing pirate on the pirate ship, and "sock-skating" around the mini Carolina Hurricanes hockey rink.

Last week, my son turned 3. In lieu of a party, we decided to spend a family day at the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro.


I hope this is a good preview of a fun summer ahead!

    The kids are growing up right in front of us! I think the oldest has gotten taller since the last photo's.

    John,
    I too am a quilting dad, in fact a quilting granddad.
    I also have a UNC and Cary connection (I noticed the UNC logo). My son, a UNC grad, is a librarian at the Wilson Library in Chapel Hill. He and his wife live in Durham and have our second grandson, Jonas, who is almost 6 months old.
    Our daughter lives near us in Georgia.
    The Cary connection is that my niece will be getting married in Duke Gardens (the in-laws are Duke people but we still speak) at the end of the month.
    I am a retired Art Teacher and I started quilting after I retired. I have won three first place awards for some of the quilts I have made. Last year I made 12 quilts.
    Today I have worked all day on getting an entry ready to send to the International show in Houston.

    I enjoyed looking at your quilts. And as many others have commented your kids are cute.

    They grow so quickly ... enjoy, savor every single second ... they make wonderful memories for the gr-kids.

    And, a quilter, too. I collect feedsack fabrics, pop over & join me.

    We opted for the zoo on my 40th birthday last year, the zoo is always a great family place!

    Wonderful! I just found your blog and how fun to find a quilting dad. I got my 5 yr old daughter a toy sewing machind for Christmas and my 3 yr old son wants one now!
