ALQS Quilt Top DONE!

I am so excited because I finished my swap quilt top this evening ...

... and I LOVE it!

This is going to be the backing, I think:

I can only hope that my swap partner will like it. I think (hope?) it fits her preferences.

For those of you who have swapped before, does it always hurt, just a little, to let one of these things go??

  1. I try to make two of the same quilt for a swap, one to keep and one to send as I always hate to see them go.

  2. Gosh, that's a beauty! Your swap partner is one lucky quilter. And I'm having the same problem thinking about giving up the one I'm making :)

  3. It's beautiful! For me, it's like giving up a piece of me every time I let a quilt go. I guess that's why I make them...to put myself into them.

  6. Your little quilt looks great, someone is gonna love that one.

I enjoyed taking part in the swap, and I didn't mind a bit giving one away because I'd already had a wonderful surprise delivered to me.

  7. yes it does. thats why some of us some of the time make extra blocks so we can make a small one for ourselves. and your quilt is gorgeous. is that fresh cut?

  8. That's so lovely! I wish it were coming to me.

It is hard to let quilts go, but it's so worth it when you get something amazing in return. Plus, when you've got to the stage of having a house overflowing with quilts, it's nice to have the excuse to make one for someone else. Although you do still have to find room for the exchange...

  9. Great swap quilt .... and yes, I have a hard time letting my little quilts go. At the same time, there is a little bit of me on a wall somewhere in this whole wide world and I'm OK with that.

  15. Oh yes, it always hurts a tad... especially if you are like me who doesn't think make things for oneself! BUt ifyou just remember to make somethings for yourself at times, it is a big help.
And sometimes, these little swaps can be trial patterns for Larger ones!
    Great Fabs by the way!

  16. That's a great looking little quilt! And the backing fabric is very sweet. Oh yes, it definitely hurts a little sending these quilts out the door. Sometimes I really want to keep them home instead. But I've been so lucky and have received some beautiful quilts in return.

I see that you also signed up for the Miniature Booty Quilt Swap too. (I was tempted to not sign up because I've been involved with so many quilt swaps lately. But then I realized that I'd be missing out on all the fun and went ahead and joined.) Cheers.
