Quilt-a-Long (Week 4)

Hey everyone! I hope all of you (well, at least those of you in the U.S.!) enjoyed a long weekend. Today was our 7-year anniversary, so we tried to enjoy the weekend as much as possible*. That, combined with my class in Chicago for most of last week, didn't allow for too much time to work on my many projects. I did, however, manage to turn out a few more of AmandaJean's quilt-a-long blocks.

I'm still thrilled about how this quilt is going to look when all's said and done. Here are the 12 blocks I've already completed:


* P.S. In case you're wondering, we celebrated our anniversary on Saturday. We got a babysitter and went for a long hike around a lake near our house, followed by dinner at one of our favorite restaurants and a movie ("Iron Man"). Good movie, by the way. I'm not a fan of Robert Downey Jr. or of Gwyneth Paltrow, but I am a HUGE fan of comic book movies ... and I actually think all of the actors were great in this movie. If you're into this sort of thing, make sure you stay past ALL of the credits for a fun surprise scene.

    Love your colors in this block! I'm a fan of the pink/brown combo, and this block really sets it off.

    I'm planning on doing blocks 4 and 5 tomorrow- been busy working on another quilt all weekend!

    your blocks look great! My husband loved Iron Man too.

    question for you: as a quilter and a man, how do you choose your fabric? It would seem that alot of fabric is quite girly, what do you think?

    The quilt blocks look great! I need to start trying to make some blocks. Log Cabin is on my list for June.
    Sounds like a fun anniversary date. My husband and I don't go out very often without our daughter. When we do get out together we can never decide what to do, we're lost without her.

    Happy belated anniversary! The blocks are looking great. Last quilt-a-long I joined in at week 8. I'm just getting started today. Better late than never!

    John, little Clancy is adorable. I hear the golden doodles are great with kids, even when they get big.

    Your blocks look great. Are you using only fabrics from "full moon forest" or are you adding a few others. I couldn't quite tell. It will make a beautiful quilt. Those fabrics are so full of wonder and delight. Love Stacy

    I love your blocks! I think you chose an incredible line to use for the colors, as I love Tula Pink. They are really turning out very very nice. If I could only get my points to look like yours... :)
