Fat Quarterly Patchwork Quilt Top

I'm easing my arm back into the sewing swing of things, and this project was a great way to get back in the saddle. It's a simple patchwork quilt, made from an assortment of 8" squares in yellows and greens, with splashes of red, brown, and a smidgen of blue.

I think I'm going to add 2 more columns and 2 more rows to make this more of a bed-sized quilt, and then get it off to the quilter ASAP. Wouldn't this be a great quilt for the Spring?

    Ive been avoiding making a blanket out of just strips of squares sewn together but there is something so classic, and beautiful about this pattern each time i see it. Im just going to have to go for it I think ... simple is sometimes the best option. Love your fabric choices here!

    So glad to know you are able to get back to doing what you love. My Mom tore her rotator cuff, and for her, and getting back to rotary cutting was painful and difficult. On the plus side, doing something you enjoy is great physical therapy! :-)

    I think your "back in the groove" quilt is great. The simple construction showcases the fun fabrics you collected. I love the mix!

    Keep at it, and be sure to give us a peek when you get it back from the quilter.

    its beautiful and you called this quilt a simple one to make. What about if you make something that is more complicated/difficult? I'm sure it would be an outstanding piece of work. I'm not craft-y nor arts-y that's why I'm easily impressed.
