Like the fabrics? I blogged all about my selection over on the Fat Quarterly blog today, and fat quarter bundles (selected by me!) to make a similar quilt of your own are now available at Wish Upon a Quilt.
I think I'm going to add 2 more columns and 2 more rows to make this more of a bed-sized quilt, and then get it off to the quilter ASAP. Wouldn't this be a great quilt for the Spring?
What quilter do you use? I've never sent one of mine out, but I'm about to and am shopping around!
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous, John - such fresh colors! Glad to hear your arm is on the mend!!
ReplyDeleteI love simple quilts like this.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Glad you are doing well and getting back into the sewing swing of things.
ReplyDeleteIve been avoiding making a blanket out of just strips of squares sewn together but there is something so classic, and beautiful about this pattern each time i see it. Im just going to have to go for it I think ... simple is sometimes the best option. Love your fabric choices here!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to ease back into quilting. It looks very nice!

Really glad to see that the arm is almost back in shape. Your fans have missed you. *S*
ReplyDeleteSo glad to know you are able to get back to doing what you love. My Mom tore her rotator cuff, and for her, and getting back to rotary cutting was painful and difficult. On the plus side, doing something you enjoy is great physical therapy! :-)
ReplyDeleteI think your "back in the groove" quilt is great. The simple construction showcases the fun fabrics you collected. I love the mix!
Keep at it, and be sure to give us a peek when you get it back from the quilter.
I hope I can quilt as beautifully as you do some day ...
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing and I am glad you arm is feeling better.
Pam

ReplyDeleteYes, I love this....I have been to your blog before but read on Canton Village works about you and decided to visit again.
ReplyDeleteHow refreshing to see a man that likes to quilt and using that talent to bless his children and family with such amazing quilts!
ReplyDeleteI haven't really done any of these contests but was excited that Moda was offering this Progressive Dinner one, just so I could meet all your talented people, new blogs are fun to check out. Thanks! Lynn
Patchwork is some of my favorite quilting. Your fabrics are great together.
ReplyDeleteI really like this one! I love simple patchwork together in cheerful colors like this one.
ReplyDeleteits beautiful and you called this quilt a simple one to make. What about if you make something that is more complicated/difficult? I'm sure it would be an outstanding piece of work. I'm not craft-y nor arts-y that's why I'm easily impressed.
ReplyDeletecute kids, lovely blog.
ReplyDeleteI have just begun delving in the quilting world... starting small. I love it.
Thanks for sharing your artistry and craft
